Matthew Allee

Certified Personal Trainer through NESTA & SSPC

I started my career working at a local hospital doing lab work and X-Rays. I quickly realized this was not the medical field I wanted to work in. It felt like pumping out medications was the main goal and the patients did not receive the best care. I then began working for a Walmart supplier to build my career in business. Through this I was still deeply passionate about the medical field. I decided to pursue my personal training certificate through NESTA and received my SSPC certification for speed and strength performance. I have spent the last eight years training athletes to recover from and prevent injuries. Through this, I started to realize that there was a huge missing piece in the prosthetic realm. People experiencing limb loss had very limited training options to learn how to use muscles properly to gain back mobility. I started working hands on with a friend that is a transtibial amputee that later became my business partner. I have experience working with amputees and I am thrilled to be working with Gates Prosthetic and Mobility Clinic to provide the care people need.

The Research:

The Amputee Coalition conducted a survey of over 1700 people that uncovered vital information on how to improve care. Respondents of the survey identified an overwhelming need for pain management, age appropriate solutions, and increased resources. Respondents of the survey also highlighted the effect mental and physical health have on each other. Amongst the group of respondents, the number one physical and mental health priority is the ability to exercise. Gates Prosthetic and Mobility Clinic is here to help patients increase their physical and mental health while providing the availability and ability for our patients to get the training and exercise they need. Our trainers will work with every patient to understand their individual needs and provide personalized exercise plans to help them meet those needs.
